Senior Ball 2002
Some of the following might be the same as what Will wrote, but hopefully some opinions are dissenting or something.
June 1st, 2002: I started out late. Things were slated to start at 3:00 PM 6 houses down at Carol's house, but I found myself getting in the shower at 2:45. I didn't leave the house until 3:40 or so. I went to pick up the corsage, and there I asked for another white rose. They made and gave it to me, and the lady ended up giving it to me for free. Gg. She told me it was because she wanted me to come back to them another time, but I think it must have been of my good looks. Then on the walk out the girls at Blenzers hollared at me. I was running late so I didn't get a chance to do anything except for a quick hollar back, youngn's. After picking Lynn up, I eventually got to Carol's house where we took a few pictures before leaving for the high school. There we took some pictures, before our party bus came and picked us up. That bus is the shizzo. We packed all 26 people in, and started rolling along. We hit up the bay bridge, then went through the city on the Embarcadero, then up the Golden Gate bridge to Sausalito.
We arrived at our restaurant, called The Spinnaker. The place looked very nice, right along the waterline. Views were very nice, and we even got a look at a nice sea otter popping up to get some air. However, the service and food there was nothing special. Our portion of the large group was seated last, and received slower service than the others. They took years taking our orders, and we basically had to ask them for our free bread. The (virgin =/) pina colada and clam chowder weren't thick enough, the fried calamari not evenly fried, and the pasta that overall sucked. Actually before that, they ran out of what I wanted to order, so they made me order something else. I ordered a Penne Rustica. It came way late, and I'll digress on that a bit more later. Anyways it came, and the pasta was still watered down from being cooked. As Will said, the scallops were overcooked and lost their flavor, the prawns were dry, and swordfish wasn't anything great. Also I heard from Will and Gerald that my plate was missing some chives and a lemon. The waiter then came back and told me that because the plate was so late in getting to me, it would be covered by the house, so that was good at least. Later on the bus I had a stomach ache from the food I just ate.
Due to the retarded restaurant, we arrived at the dance around 11:00 PM. There we simply danced the shortened night away. The room was bigger than the junior prom place, but in my opinion was still too small to hold everyone there. The dance floor was a little too small and the atmosphere was a little too warm (temperature wise). Before we knew it, senior ball was over with the last dance. Btw I don not understand how a song like that was chosen. It's basically a slow rock song, but it wasn't really slow enough to be considered a slow song. =/. We were quickly bounced out of the building by the low-class bouncers. We got back to the CVHS parking lot around 2:30 AM or so.
We then went to Jenny's house up in Colombia. There was a great arrangement of food and snacks. People (including me) then changed out of the formal wear and lounged around. Most people either watched movies, played foosball, or ping-pong. I don't think I took much part in those though =). I then spent a good amount of time on the floor falling in and out of consciousness. I think I left around 6:45 AM, and got home around 7:00 AM, where I promptly hit the sack, but didn't fall asleep in a quickly fashion. I woke up around 1:00 PM to a phone call reminding me that I had to work on a project. I showed up two hours late, but I think we basically got the stuff done. I then came home and watched the
Lakers beat the Kings. What a great game. Did you all see Divac cry when he fouled out? Or howabout Stojakovic, Christie, and Webber throwing up bricks when their team needed a trey? Christie's shot missed rim, Webber missed it off the bank (indicating he choked on release), and Stojakovic missed completely and drew air. Howabout the Kings shooting Shaq regular season percentages from the charity strip while the Lakers (Shaq, Bryant, Fisher) went 8/8 from the stripe in the clutch? Ouch... what a great game though. Time to look forward to NBA playoffs 2003. That's three in a row.
Tomorrow's the senior picnic. For all those going, report to the half circle at 8:45 AM.
