Well after one hour I figured out what was wrong with my sound. Turns out I had the plugs going into the input than output. So this officially puts me in the same place as I was yesterday afternoon. Oh, except now I have one blown power supply unit. What a cost to getting nothing done. I am such an idiot. Thanks Brian for letting me borrow the psu.
