arriving too late, and leaving too soon
Hello all, hello all. Sometime during the week I saw
Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. Simply said, forget the jibber jagger dialogue, and just watch the explosions and shoot outs and action scenes. My only real complaint was that the khaki outfit in this outting fails to compete with the grey cat suit in the last movie.
Thursday after stopping by LPC to drop off some homework, Chester, Nick, Steph, and I ate lunch at Black Angus. Haven't been there in a while, and it was good food. Too bad most of us were like full by the time the entrees came, haha.
Chester: Did you hear banging on the door?
I did not.
Chester: I told Branden to bang on the door because I didn't want you to start makin' babies.
MAKING BABIES HAHAHAHA!!!
Afterwards some more of us played some bball at the rec. A few people showed, and we were able to play some 4v4 and 3v3. That night Gerald, Will and I went to see
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, the
obvious choice. At first we were gonna catch the 8:30 showing, but the only seats left were the front rows, so screw that. We were then willing to shell out the extra dollar for the IMAX screening, but that was sold out; damn nerds. We then settled on the 11:20 showing.
With a few hours to kill, we headed over to Target. Before we went in I ran into Sam in the parking lot so I stopped to say hello. Inside, we walked around looking for nothing in particular before stopping to visit Nick working at food avenue. We all got something to eat, and Nick hooked a lot of stuff up. Thanks dude.
We got to the theatre and spaced out across one of the middle rows. Always great having those extra empty seats next to you and not have to worry about elbowing the person next to you, haha. The movie itself (and the trilogy) can be summed up in one word:
epic. It is simply fantastic. Forget about how long it is, or how unhetero the hobbits are, the movie is great. I got that sad-but-joyful feeling during one of the ending scenes of the movie. I get that a lot watching movies now; I must be getting old. As for the rest of you who hasn't seen it yet: go see it. For those of you who haven't seen the series at all, I have to ask: what in the hell are you doing?
Woke up at 2:00 Friday afternoon. Evening consisted of a CV c/o 2002 tree group (plus E. Buth) gathering at Jenny's house where just about everybody showed. We shared dinner, held a white elephant gift exchange, played foosball, and generally just chatted with one another. Always great seeing old friends.
I appreciate your humor now. Back in high school I didn't really understand it, but now I do.
Aww thanks! It wasn't easy being ahead of my time.
As for today so far, I've been watching football and saw Wake Forest take UNC in triple overtime. While in bed I snoozed from noon till about 1:30, haha.
I have more respect for women now because they wear the wire.
Always enter from the top, if possible.
Great advice!
