Paul Oakenfold feat Brittany Murphy - Faster Kill Pussycat
Who would have thought she would turn out to be a total hottie back in 95 when she appeared in the classic "Clueless"? Just goes to show, buy in early and have faith in those investments!
In a related note, I've been checking out and listening to a lot of music lately from major-label artists who remain just outside the mainstream. Or at least before they are on the radio or MTV. This makes me happy.
Classes start up again this week. Two "real" classes plus PE. I'm thinking of picking up an art class to help my drawing skills, and I'm also considering any other class I may have personal interests in. Or one that's good odds for some lookers. Speaking of which, I was on campus the other day and there looked to be some decent potentials, but knowing that place like I do it was probably just a big trap.
Let's do a quick summer recap. Hmm, let's see. Did the regular summer thing to socal. Went to Hawaii for the first time ever and came across the cutest hapa chick I've seen in years. Visited SLO for probably the last time in a long time, and again realized god shat on me by not letting me go to school there. At least we went pub-crawling at 7:30 AM and got faded. Still waiting on a certain video to appear from a certain hookup. So it is that easy. More on this later.
Damn me for being blessed as a raconteur and with great writing skills, but lacking in charm or quick-thinking ability. Damn it all.
Let's break for the lovely Mandy Amano, otherwise known as the "Pepsi Girl" from the 2005 Super Bowl iTunes ad.
What else you ask? Been to more than a few A's games (thanks for the tickets!, they are much appreciated :P ), started picking up bowling (hopefully regular status starts again soon), and went to the SC Beach Boardwalk for the first time ever. That place is dope. Beach was stacked, boardwalk is stacked, and the rides were fun. We will try and go back at least once per summer. Went fishing twice. Both times were a bust, but at least I caught this bad boy:
Yeah bitch, look at the camera! Due to not knowing how to prepare this thing in a pot, I let it go. Next time I'm gonna eat you!
Some of us picked up swimming as an exercise this summer. I've been trying to go three times a week, and fortunately I've mostly kept up the routine. Right now most of us can put in an hours worth of laps, resulting in a distance of about one mile, depending on whose math we're using. At first the odds at the pool were great, like for the first ten visits there were probably six or seven positive outcomes. Thanks to the law of averages, that percentage has fallen back into the one-out-of-three range.
Oh yeah, I also did some temp work for a few weeks. The only thing I'll say about that is that there was a really skinny early 30ish woman there who loved wearing sleeveless shirts and took a lot of vacation days. We may have said hello to each other one or two times.
I'm also glad to say I probably went out a lot more than I had in summers past. Sure most days I was just sitting on my ass and twiddling my thumbs, but most times I went out things were pretty fun. One time I got hit on but I was a greedy mofo and gave more attention to the more attractive (i.e. taller and/or more endowed) friends. Oops...
Too bad it looks like the one occasion I wanted to go out for will never come to fruition. Totally not my fault at first, but naturally I still ended up playing my cards wrong and dicked the whole thing up. Small chance of redemption but let's not get our hopes up again. By our I do of course mean mine. Bastard. The damn thing is I think I've been playing the part of the bitch.
For a long time I've been saying to myself I must know how certain things worked and that I could only wonder what it's like to be the fly-on-the-wall in particular situations. Now that I'm privy to being more in-the-know, the simplicity of it all leaves me nettled and bitter yet almost gracefully allows for but a fleeting moment of clarity and actualization. Damn you again, lack of charm and quick-thinking. One more semester remains before I'm really looking up the horses ass.
As for my favs' movies and TV, I've tried to keep up with most of the new stuff. Been checking out "Damages" as well as "Entourage", which I swear gets the hottest random guest stars. Shows I will eventually check out include "Burn Notice" and "The Kill Point". I have also watched the first eps of both "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and the re-imaging of "Bionic Woman". SCC looks like it's got legs, and BW has some potential. No doubt serving the effort is Lena Heady (of 300 fame) and Summer Glau starring in SCC, with Michelle Ryan and Katee Sackhoff starring in BW, respectively. All four are collectively simply smokin'.
On the movie front, I've seen some of the blockbusters, but still have to see Pirates (lol), Transformers, and Bourne. Now that I think of it, there are a grip of wide-release movies from this year alone I haven't seen yet. On my hard drive lined up is a collection of indie and limited-release films I'm looking forward to. Toping this list include "Gray Matters" and "Broken English". Take a look at the leads and may you share in my joy.
Also started playing some BF2, haha. $5 at Fry's right now if you want to join us.
Thanks for reading, allow me to offer a proper reward!
Megan Fox circa 2004. You may recognize her from "Hope & Faith" and definitely from "Transformers". Current pictures here
Maqqie Q. You saw her in "Live Free or Die Hard" and "Mission: Impossible III". More pictures here and again
Don't be alarmed if you don't recognize them. That's what I'm here for, remember?
