"you're not a breast or an ass man, you're a personality man" -about me

you're an island and my ship has run aground

"...you know you love me,"
From last Thursday:

Haha so after disembarking off the lift Gerald fell while on the ramp and ended up with what we think is an ankle sprain. I may or may not have had something to do with this so to prevent any possible guilt I will say no more on that particular matter.

Seriously though it was really cold (in the low 20's) and windy and snowy at the top, with some wicked wind chill. You know how Ollie Williams says it's raining sideways? Well, on that particular day it was SNOWING SIDEWAYS! Great deal though, $15 lift tickets and $35 lessons with everything during the week. Can't beat that. Will be going up again soon.

Beat Halo 3 over the weekend. That would be the first of the series now I've actually completed. Still stuck in 1 and haven't even started 2, so I don't really have an idea of what the story is. Now I've gone back and started playing Gears of War, to try and beat it on insane mode.

Allow me to apologize for the nerd moment with some pictures of the lovely Sophia Bush of One Tree Hill fame. You may also know her as the former Mrs. Chad Michael Murray, the bastard.

Let's see what else there is. Oh yes, I've been able to watch a few movies recently. Leading off is Cloverfield, which was absolutely dope. Completely lived up to the hype. Monster was cool and I had no problems with the story or the fact the monster seemed to be "following" the characters. I cheered a little on the inside after they got to where they were going and was quite sad right at the end there. Next up is Atonement. Started off a bit slow, but totally paid off at the end. There's nothing wrong with a romance story, especially one set in the past. Keira Knightley is always a plus. Third we have Juno, a charming and funny, appealing flick. I absolutely adored the one-liners, plus my fav is in it too. Ellen Page = up and comer. Batting cleanup is Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Let's just say I'm a whore for period pieces set during the middle ages & renaissance.

Also, I've been able to catch up with some TV I had been putting off. Headlines include Brothers and Sisters and the first season of Weeds. Emily VanCamp is a total cutie and Mary-Louise Parker is super pretty for an older lady. OH YEAH I also again watched the pilot for Gossip Girl and I couldn't help but think how unbelievable it was. As in, literally, it's not believable or possible that some of these things would happen. Gosh I hope this isn't a sign of me getting old. I did, however, find a new song to listen to thanks to this show. One reason I do watch this particular genre of TV is definitely for the music factor.

So I have been forced to fend for myself lately when it comes to food. This is the best of what I've came up with:

One is a rib eye, one is a strip steak (New York). I'm not sure which is which though. The secret recipe is as follows: evoo, pepper, salt, cayenne pepper. Easy peasy!

On the 19th a few of us went snowboard up at Kirkwood. We took one of those tour buses up there and while the ride was standard (i.e. uncomfortable), they did provide some morning snacks and afternoon water. It's also nice to not have to worry about someone driving. One whack thing though, the driver got pulled over on the ride back, for three different infractions, haha: speeding, illegal passing, and running someone off the road.

chp: three moving violations is reckless driving, did you know that?
driver: no
chp: you're a bus driver and you didn't know that?
driver: oh... i meant i didn't know i was 'doing' that

"Outside forces" did not make an appearance. Some other time, perhaps.

A little while ago I had dinner at Straits down at Santana Row. The sea bass was pretty tasty, although the portion was kind of small, as expected I suppose. The satay sticks were good. Original plan was to have Japanese but that didn't happen. Second plan was to eat at Mag but they were frackin' packed. Dessert afterwards at Cocola Bakery. Smelled nice inside.

Two negatives from that night: the water at Straits tasted like metal, and leave it to the French to jack up a green tea pastry. Merde! The jury's still out on whether or not a third strike occured. Some long ass deliberations going on though that's for sure.

As a professor once said, "put it in the experience bucket for next time." Funny how some things that others say just stick with you.

Bored again, I see. Allow me to spice things up a bit! Here is the stunningly beautiful Odette Yustman, who plays Beth from the aforementioned Cloverfield. You don't know her from October Road, but I do.

For New Years some of us went to North Beach out in SF. Drank a lot and came home the next morning. Crashed at a friend of a friend's. I'm sure she hates us now. This would be a pretty good clue as to why:

Lollerskates.

Christmas was spent down in SoCal like always. Nice weather like always. Good seeing family. Hot pot for Christmas Eve dinner per usual. Somewhere in there I played a round of golf and hit some bombs off the tee. One time I hit it so far it got too close to the group ahead of us who were playing their second shots. They were dicks about it so they hit my ball back toward us. It only made it half way. Oh well, what are you gonna do, right?

Of course, what makes every holiday better:

Sometime last month we went snowboard at Boreal. Bastards raised the price to $15 on Fridays. I definitely still had it, though.

Oh hey so I graduated last month! Yes, after 5.5 years of "higher" education it's been done. I hate classes and tests and homework and "studying" and all that, but knowing the right people in class can actually make all of that okay. Okay so I never really ever "studied" to the point where other people do. I was just good at passing shit. I'm going to miss it all, only because when I think about it, I was pretty damn good at it all. Eventually they will mail me my B.S in Advertising. Too bad I've lost the tassel from the cap/gown, hah.

I think they were pretty much the first two I met in the mass comm. college. Good times!

That presentation/project I had been talking about also took place last month. Turns out our team brought up the rear as far as what place we finished in, but there is some solace is knowing that both groups in our section and the vast the majority of people got owned grade-wise. The professor shook my hand and gave me a hug at the commencement ceremony! What's up with that?!! One good thing, I personally felt and others have told me that my part in the presentation was superbly excellent. It's good to know that with enough practice and hard work I can speak effectively in front of large groups.

Oh and I guess I've been working on my resume and giving minimal thought as to whether or not I wish to continue my education. As I've said, I'm pretty damn good at the whole school thing.

Here we have some great (and untouched) Kat McPhee action. Super kawaii!

Too bad she was dropped from her record label.

Some final food for thought: with the recent announcement of yet another engagement, it was mentioned that so far, for everything that's happened, it makes sense for all parties concerned. Everybody so far had the right reasons. Nobody got married for money or to piss their parents off... My take on the matter is, if these are the right people in the right situations, then these are perfect test cases. If shit hits the fan here, then by golly, good luck to the rest of us and everyone else. We're gonna need it.

Thanks for taking the time to read. This only took me 3+ hours.

"xoxo GOSSIP GIRL"

P.S. special shout-out and thanks to C.J. for all the help in recent events (unfortunately not) occurred. Sorry I've been pretty useless in the matter. Looks like we'll be getting em next time...
